"St Nicholas Church. Liverpool, in 1844".
The famous "Seamans' Church" of the Liverpool waterfront. This view shows the new tower built by T.Harrison after the old steeple fell down one Sunday morning in 1810, and is seen from the end of Princes Dock with the corner of New Quay on the left. Chapel Street is ahead, and the building with the "aerial" on the roof was one of the the old telegraph stations. Georges Dock and the Goree Piazza is on the right.
Image size : 5" x 5½" (130mm x 140mm) - £5 each.
