LLR.8
"South Castle Street, Liverpool in 1844".
Looking in the opposite direction to LLR.7, This view is taken from St Georges Church (built on the site of the old Liverpool Castle), towards Canning Place and the magnificent Custom House or Revenue Buildings, opened in 1839. The later is approximatly situated on the site of the original Old Dock of c1709. South Castle Street broadly follows the line of "Pool Lane", one of the oldest of Liverpool's streets, which led from the Castle to the old pool.
Image size : 4¼" x 5" (110mm x 125mm) - £5 each.
